Miss Lim commenced public practice of company secretarial services in 1984 and qualified as an Associate Member of MAICSA in 1986. She was elected as a Fellow of the Institute in 1997.

Miss Lim had provided professional company secretarial services for the last 25 years to a variety of public and private companies, both locally and foreign owned, involved in diverse industries such as manufacturing, trading, property development, construction, consultancy and advisory service. In her capacity as company secretary of public listed companies she was involved in corporate exercises undertaken by these companies including initial public offerings, bonus issues, rights issues, private placements, ESOS and group restructurings.

Miss Lim had also provided professional services to clients with regards to applications to the Foreign Investment Committee, applications to set up Regional or Representative Offices, applications for Stamp Duty Exemptions, applications made to Bank Negara Malaysia in relation to Exchange Control purposes, set-up of sole proprietorships or partnerships.
